Think About It Thursday, December 7, 2017
\r\n\r\n
Brrr. It’s cold this late fall day but it’s going to be colder in the morning so be ready.
\r\nThe days of this semester are quickly coming to an end. It will end when you go home for Christmas break. That means that the grades you are going to get on the next report card are the grades that will go on your transcript, earn or deny you credit, and affect your GPA. Make sure those grades are the best you can make them.
\r\nDo you have a computer fine????
\r\nIf you are one of the many who do, you have a chance to come work off $50 toward that fine on Friday, December 15th. The powers that be have been talking to Santa evidently because they are going to allow you to work 3 ½ hours and earn 5 hours credit toward your fee! So come on to school December 15th and work from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and earn that $50. For many of you, that would totally wipe out your fine.
\r\nMusic, music, music!!
\r\nChoir concert is Sunday at 3:30 and band concert is Monday at 6:00. Both are in the auditorium.
\r\nNo Referrals???
\r\nI hope you’re on the no referral list and get to party Friday. 9th and 10th grade get to party together and 11th and 12th grade party together. Listen to the announcements for more details about when and where to go.
\r\nFunnies and Facts
\r\nWho is the Music Elf's favorite reindeer?\r\nDancer!
\r\nHow does Christmas Day end?\r\nWith the letter 'Y'!
\r\n“Jingle Bells” was originally supposed to be a Thanksgiving song.
\r\nTinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany and was once made of real silver.
\r\nThough Santa Claus has worn blue and white and green in the past, his traditional red suit came from a 1930s ad by Coca Cola.
\r\nPoint to Ponder
\r\nWhy not try being “elfish” and not be selfish? If you don’t know what that means, give it some thought. I don’t think it’s difficult to figure out. And it’s not something you should only strive for at Christmas time, but all the time.
\r\nParting Thoughts
\r\nThis is the last one of these I’m sending out this semester. You’ll be way too busy next week to even read one. So I’m giving you my wish now . . . . I wish for each one of you to be safe, healthy, warm, happy, and to feel loved. A bonus wish of mine is for each of you to pass every class you have been taking this semester.
\r\nStay tuned for more next semester!
\r\nLove,
\r\nMs. Scottie
