Blytheville on Sept. 16 won four of its five volleyball matches at Forrest City. The Lady Chickasaws (0-6, 0-7) were defeated by Forrest City 21-25, 22-25, 22-25, but the 'B' Lady Chickasaws (1-4) got the better of the junior varsity Lady Mustangs 25-16.
The Blytheville High School 9th grade Jr. Lady Chickasaws volleyball team (0-6, 1-6) on Sept. 16 won in three games at Forrest City 25-22, 25-22, 15-8. The Blytheville Middle School 8th grade girls (1-6) defeated Forrest City 25-15, and the 7th-graders (1-5-1) won 25-20, 25-12.
The Blytheville Chickasaws (0-3) played a very hard-fought battle Sept. 13 in their final nonconference outing at West Memphis, falling to the Blue Devils 34-31 in what was an amazing game.
Despite playing tough throughout, the Blytheville Lady Chickasaws volleyball team (0-6, 0-7) on Sept. 13 was defeated by Highland 15-25, 13-25, 20-25 at the Auxiliary Gym.
The Blytheville High School 9th grade Jr. Lady Chickasaws (0-5) on Sept. 13 lost to 4A 3 Conference opponent Highland 18-25, 19-25 at the Auxiliary Gym. The BMS 8th grade Jr. Lady Chickasaws (0-5) were defeated 14-25, and the 7th grade girls (0-4-1) suffered 13-25, 20-25 losses.
The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws (0-5, 0-6) on Sept. 10 played their first road volleyball game of the season, losing at 4A 3 Conference opponent Batesville 7-25, 8-25, 16-25.
The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws volleyball team (0-4, 0-5) on Sept. 9 lost to Wynne 25-6, 25-13, 25-11 at the Auxiliary Gym.
The Blytheville High School 9th grade Jr. Lady Chickasaws (0-4) on Sept. 9 were defeated in volleyball action by Wynne 25-12, 25-3 at the Auxiliary Gym. The Blytheville Middle School 8th grade Jr. Lady Chickasaws (0-4) fell to Wynne 5-25, and the 7th grade girls fell 7-25, 17-25.
The Blytheville Chickasaws (0-2) on Sept. 6 saw their efforts to defeat Osceola come up short, with Osceola winning 33-18 at Seminole Stadium.
The Blytheville High School ninth grade Junior Chickasaws on Sept. 5 opened their football campaign with a 14-6 defeat to Osceola at Seminole Stadium.
The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws (0-3, 0-4) on Sept. 5 absorbed 25-4, 25-8, 25-5 4A 3 Conference volleyball setbacks to Jonesboro Westside at the Auxiliary Gym, and the “B” Lady Chickasaws (0-4) lost to the JV Lady Warriors 25-7.
The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws (0-2, 0-3) on Sept. 3 were defeated by Pocahontas 25-8, 25-19, 25-7 in 4A 3 Conference action at the Auxiliary Gym, and the “B” Lady Chickasaws (0-2, 0-3) lost to the JV Lady Redskins 25-11.
The Blytheville High School 9th grade Jr. Lady Chickasaws (0-2) on Sept. 3 dropped 8-25, 4-25 4A 3 Conference games to Pocahontas. The Blytheville Middle School 8th grade girls lost 25-16, and the 7th-graders split, losing the first contest 25-8 but winning the nightcap 25-21.
The Blytheville Chickasaws on Aug. 30 were defeated at Marion 44-14 in nonconference football action to begin the season.
Blytheville Middle School’s eighth grade Junior Lady Chickasaws volleyball team on Aug. 29 lost to Brookland 6-25 in 4A 3 Conference activity at the Auxiliary Gym, and the seventh grade girls team was defeated 2-25, 2-25.
The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws volleyball team (0-1, 0-2) on Aug. 29 lost a 4A 3 Conference home match with Brookland 13-25, 7-25, 3-25 at the Auxiliary Gym. The “B” Lady Chickasaws also lost 8-25. The 9th grade Junior Lady Chickasaws were defeated 7-25, 9-25 in their opener.

The Blytheville Lady Chickasaws volleyball team on Aug. 26 lost three hard-fought games to Trumann 10-25, 15-25 and 20-25 at the Auxiliary Gym, and the “B” Lady Chickasaws were defeated by the junior varsity Lady Wildcats 21-25.
We want to address a very important matter which is being shared on social media.
On August 20, an Arkansas school district posted information they received from the FBI office located in Little Rock related to a possible school shooting in Arkansas (August 29th) and Kentucky (August 28th). The FBI could not confirm the source of the reporting party.
Although we are not aware of any threats to our county or city, Blytheville Public Schools is working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement about this matter. School Resource Officers and Blytheville Schools Commissioned Security Officers are present at every campus in order to protect students and faculty.
We will take all steps necessary to protect our children.
